I have worked as a remedial therapist since 1998, of which I have worked at MCN in Amsterdam Noord since 2001. My career as an exercise therapist began after being retrained by the UWV after I was discharged due to a herniated disc that ended my career as a nurse in 1988. I successfully completed my education, and after initially working in Limburg, I eventually ended up in Amsterdam.

At MCN in Amsterdam Noord, I was drawn to the patients with respiratory and tension complaints. I have been focusing more and more on this patient group and have been retraining in this. Working with these patients has really become my preference. I see quick results and can really make a difference for people in a short period of time.

Within MCN, I get the opportunity to apply my own special skills and develop myself further. After my working day, I spend a lot of time with my sons, giving them advice and being involved in their activities. I enjoy playing guitar and would like to pick up my guitar playing again soon. I am also interested in language and want to improve my language skills.

Ultimately, my goal has always been to improve the well-being of people with mental health problems who experience physical symptoms as a result. That motivates me every day.
